Loughrigg Fell

Distance: 5.47km
Ascent: 330m
Duration: 3 Hours

Today was our final day in the Lakes and of course the weather had to be absolutely stunning. Bright winter sunshine and crisp frozen fells. We had to go for a walk before driving home!

Heading out from White Moss this morning was of course very busy - its the first nice day and its a weekend.

We works our way around the south side of Rydal Water with amazing views to Nab Scar.

A detour into the caves and then up the fellside.

Although you cant see it, the ground was frozen rock solid.

The Coniston Fells from the summit of Loughrigg Fell.

Zooming in, that’s Coniston Old Man on the left, Wetherlam central and Great Carrs on the right.

Bowfell and the Langdale Pikes.

Grasmere far below.

Crinkle Crags, Bowfell and the Langdale Pikes.

We descended down to the terrace path just above the lake.

And followed it back to White Moss.
