Kinder Scout

Distance: 14.6km
Ascent: 496m
Duration: 4 Hours 50 Minutes

I was in the Peak District for a couple of days with Nick and he is currently ticking off the Trail 100 which involves a hike to the true summit of Kinder Scout.

Heading out of Edale and up Grindsbrook.

Solid path the whole way.

Crossing a stream and looking up to a pointed peak which I think could be Ringing Roger?

A view back along the way we have just come.

Nearing the top of the scramble up Grindsbrook Clough.

Win Hill and Lose Hill.

We followed the escarpment to Pym Chair. That is the Woolpacks just ahead.

Enjoying the view from the Woolpacks.

Zooming in on Grindslow Knoll.

Stunning view down to Edale.

We took bearings from Pym Chair and crossed the moor to reach the true summit - confirmed by the GPS.

The true summit of Kinder Scout. From here we headed to Kinder Low.

The view from Kinder Low towards Manchester.

The Trig on Kinder Low.

Our way down is along Jacobs Ladder and it offers amazing views.
