Distance: 7.42km
Ascent: 412m
Duration: 3 Hours 42 Minutes

Today we headed over to Ullswater and explored Aira Beck, visiting numerous Waterfalls along the valley and then headed up to the summit of Gowbarrow Fell before returning along the terrace path overlooking Ullswater.

Our first view of Aira Force.

I headed down to view the falls from the bridge below.

Further along Aira Beck and getting towards High Force.

According to the National Trust map this is High Force - I always thought it was the one further up which is bigger than this!

This is what I thought was High Force…

Zooming in a little on the waterfall.

Gently gaining height before the steep section! Over to the left is Ullswater.

Gowbarrow Fell summit.

There has been plenty of footpath work done up here to the summit.

It doesn’t look like anything now but this was once a shooting box.

Heading along the terrace path towards Ullswater. That’s Hallin Fell on the other side of the Lake and Martindale.

Some of the best views today as we overlook Ullswater.

Scalehow Force thundering down the hillside opposite.

Herdy posing.

Overlooking Lyulphs Tower - Built 1795 and Grade II* listed.

A stunning view for the final descent.

One of the most unusual trees!
