Lords Seat

Distance: 11.4km
Ascent: 631m
Duration: 4 Hours 25 Minutes

Having arrived in the Lake District for a week we headed up into the fells even though the weather was fairly poor to the summits of Lords Seat, Barf and Broom Fell. The cloud base was around 500m so we were hoping for some views!

Ascending from the road up along the beck allowed for views back to the Vale of Keswick. The recent felling of the trees has opened up the views.

Almost on Barf now - the ascent is steep but gets up onto the fell top quickly! This is the view to Bassenthwaite Lake and Binsey.

The Vale of Keswick.

Skiddaw beyond Bassenthwaite Lake.

Barf summit.

Lords Seat summit.

Broom Fell summit cairn and shelter.

Looking down towards Lorton - that’s Graystones in front and Broom Fell to the right.

Descending through the woodland and the sun was trying to come out!

Ullock Pike and Longside.

Clough Head across to Raise all in the cloud and with some snow.

Barf from the roadside at the end of the walk.
