Grange Fell & Great Crag

Distance: 6.52km
Ascent: 346m
Duration: 3 Hours 1 Minute

Today was our first day back in the Lakes and we headed over to Watendlath to summit two fells, both easy walking from the village.

Watendlath Tarn from the start of the walk and Great Crag in the background.

Watendlath Tarn.

Grange Fell up ahead.

Ether Knott - although never accurately measured, it could be the highest point on the fell…

Getting close to the summit now.

The summit of Grange Fell.

Looking across to Kings How (Subsidiary summit of Grange Fell) and behind that is High Spy and Maiden Moor.

Looking to Ether Knott. Impossible to tell if its higher or lower from here.

The view south to Great Crag.

Some rescue perhaps taking place - I saw them hovering around High Raise.

The view to Rosthwaite Fell and down to Borrowdale - a dusting of snow on the higher peaks.

Borrowdale and the fells from Great Gable (in the cloud) round to Pillar in the background and Dale Head to the right.

Great Crag has two summits of which I think the south top is slightly higher. This photo is showing the view to the north cairn.

Dock Tarn and High Raise behind.

Watendlath Tarn and High Seat.

Following the track back into Watendlath.
